My 2017 Easter Menu

One week to go until Easter Sunday! Have you got your menu planned? If you’re still searching for ideas or recipes, I hope you’ll find some inspiration from my Easter menu for this 2017.

We will be having Glen’s family over to our house for Easter lunch, again this year. I’m making most of the food. I think our guests will be bringing a couple of salad/ veg dishes, and appetizers, as well.

Here is what I will be making…

I’m using the slow cooker, not using the recipe in the link. I layer thick slices of brown onion on the bottom and add beef stock/ broth, to add flavour and moisture.

I’ll be adding pink flowers and sprigs of lavender from my garden, as well as little candy-coated chocolate eggs on top of the cake. Image of cake above via Peony Lim.

Happy Easter to all celebrating! Wishing you and yours a lovely holiday.

  1. Good luck with your blog, I can tell I will be awaiting Aeschylus post! My blog has kept me on task to start and complete projects that I in turn post on. The deadline of a weekly main post and Sunday ramblings sometimes is challenging to do when otherwise so busy, but it has made me much more confident to try new skills and tolerant of imperfections. Enjoy your journey.

    1. Thank you so much for your encouragement! I’m hoping this blog will help me to be more motivated to do projects and learn more about taking better photos. It is hard to make time to take photos, I’m finding–especially of food, since it has a very limited window of freshness. I’m looking forward to learning a lot.

      1. Your welcome. I find a deeper appreciation of food bloggers after each try at a food post. What starts off as a “quick” shot of a dish ends up taking so much more time prepping and setting up all the while the fresh food or mixture takes on some wildly different look. Lol. I always vow not to do another recipe again. I admire food bloggers sooo much!

  2. That is so true, Kathy! I have newfound respect for food bloggers now, after just a few attempts at photographing my own food. It’s one thing to be a pretty good cook or baker, but it’s a whole other thing to be good at proving it with photos!
